Helldivers 2has already been a runaway success for Arrowhead Studios, but the developer isn’t resting on its laurels. Despite a few hiccups over the last year, theHelldivers 2community has largely remained stalwart in the face of insurmountable odds. Not only has Arrowhead continued to throw masses of Automatons and Terminids at Helldivers, they’ve gone even further by introducing a returning race, the Illuminate, that only further complicated things and forced users to reconsider their strategies.
Speaking toIGN, production director Alex Bolle reassured players that even more growth can be expected asthe team behind the ongoing war for Super Earth wants the game “to be around for years and years and years to come.“Bolle elaborated that continued expansion can be tricky, especially since Arrowhead doesn’t want to stray too far from its foundations while introducing new systems and mechanics. Fortunately, that’s not deterring the developer as it continues to “let creativity loose on new systems that we would’ve never thought about a year ago.”

What’s Next For Helldivers 2?
The War Will Never End
The arrival of the Illuminatewas a massive event in theHelldivers 2community, as it meant the sequel finally included all the enemy factions that existed in the original game. With such a major milestone cleared, players are now speculating on how Arrowhead can further grow the universe with even more foes. While the next logical step is tocreate a completely new enemy group, one has to imagine that such a massive leap takes a while to properly execute, so it could be a while before a fifth faction enters the fray.
Arrowhead Studios needs to be applauded for its dedication to providing players with a wealth of content to unlock. The team has launched plenty of Warbonds over the last year, each one adding new armor, weapons, and cosmeticsto help Helldivers look their best as they destroy Super Earth’s enemies. Now that many of thebalancing issues have been ironed out, it seems likely that these expansions will continue, which is great news for those whoenjoy unlocking new toys.

Is Helldivers 2 Worth Playing In 2025?
After a wildly successful launch and a series of less successful updates, is Helldivers 2 still worth playing, a year after its initial release?
Helldivers 2 Is The Best Multiplayer Game Of 2024
Nothing Came Close To Beating It
Generally speaking, I don’t gravitate toward multiplayer games, butthere’s something undeniably special aboutHelldivers 2. The community’s commitment to the war effort, the addictive gameplay loop, the heavy, tangible feeling of the gunplay; It all created a unique experience that never stopped being fun. Arrowhead Studios crafted an exceptional game, and I’m always excited to see what it has planned for the future.
