InGreen Lantern #13by Jeremy Adams and Fernando Pasarin, the last remnants of the Resistance Corps have gathered deep underground on Oa. Jessica Cruz, the Resistance’s double agent, stops by to check on her comrades, but everyone is on edge. Hal may have escaped, but Jo and Simon have been locked up and the team is running out of places to hide.
A weakened Kyle chimes in, saying Thaaros is trying tocontrol the Emotional Spectrum, and thus, the entire DC Universe. It’s also revealed thatKyle’s traditional Green Lantern outfit has become a rainbow of colors.
Green Lantern’s Costume Just Went From Green to an Entire Color Wheel
After assuming control of the Green Lanterns, Thaaros began using his position to attack other corps. He brought in new Lanterns and used them to blow up the Central Power Batteries of nearly every other corps, making the Green Lanterns practically the only light-wielders in the DC Universe. Thaaros' Lanterns also became able to utilize other lights in the Emotional Spectrum, shocking Hal Jordan once he saw it in battle.Not only is Thaaros hoping to consolidate control over the Emotional Spectrum, he hopes to use his Lanterns to access the power of the mysterious Source Lantern.
It’s been clear for some time that something’s going on with Kyle (which makes sense given no one knows the Emotional Spectrum as intimately as he does). Given Kyle’s past training with other lights, it’s no shock that he’s the one the Emotional Spectrum seems to be speaking through. Thaaros' repeated attacks are warping the energy source and nothing reflects that better than Kyle’s new costume. Right now, the lights are bleeding into one another and nothing is defined.Green Lantern’s new look might look beautiful at first, but it’s a terrifying omen of what could be on the horizon.
Green Lantern’s Costume Reflects the Emotional Spectrum’s Suffering
Thaaros is a madman who has no idea of the damage he’s doing in the name of power. One look at Kyle Rayner shows just how bad things are getting right now. Kyle may have mastered the Emotional Spectrum, but he shouldn’t be channeling other lights like this. If things keep up this way, who knows how things could end? One thing’s for sure right now: Kyle is the only way anyone can determine the Emotional Spectrum’s stability. But by the look ofGreen Lantern’snew costume, it won’t be long before the entire DC Universe feels the consequences of Thaaros' actions.
