NewGame of Thronesart imagines Daenerys as the savior of humanity. In 2022,Game of Thronesreceived its first spin-off in the form ofHouse of the Dragon. Several more are in development, includingA Knight of the Seven Kingdoms,Ten Thousand Ships, and a project concerning Aegon’s Conquest. For all of HBO’s efforts, however, the company has been unable to fix the original controversial finale that led audiences to lash out at the franchise. Consequently, most of the spin-offs have been prequels, rather than sequels or parallel stories.

New art created by Reddit userNomi_DBSattempts to showcase Daenerys living up to audience expectations. Check out the art below, which is a stunning collage that seesDaenerys facing off against the Night King:

Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) wearing a blue dress, walking among a crowd of people from Yunkai in Game of Thrones season 3’s finale

The post includes several images, which take viewers through the design’s creation. It was painstakingly completed through Photoshop andthe artist elected to fulfill the prophecy fromHouse of the Dragonby pitting Daenerys against the Night King. The prophecy, which concerns a Targaryen uniting the realm and stopping the White Walkers, was never actually fulfilled in the show. The art, however, features a crowned Daenerys standing beside two of her dragons, while the Night King sits atop his horse. The captured dragon Viserion flies behind his new master.

What Daenerys' Prophecy Means For House Of The Dragon

This Art Showcases Why The Prophecy Matters

As much as HBO has avoided a sequel to its hit 2011 show, it has not been afraid to showcase connections through its prequels. Much ofthe Dance of the Dragonsrevolves around a prophecy relating to the events ofGame of Thrones. Rhaenyra Targaryen is convinced she was meant to fight the White Walkers and needs the crown to do it. That is one of several motivations that forced her to rebel against Aegon II and the Iron Throne. In reality, Daemon Targaryen discovers thatDaenerys is the true saviorthrough a series of mysterious visions.

The final battle against the Night King occurs inGame of Thronesseason 8, episode 3, “The Long Night”. Daenerys' death comes three episodes later inGame of Thronesseason 8, episode 6, “The Iron Throne”.

Unfortunately, the prophecies do not make complete sense. Neither Daenerys nor her dragons kill the Night King. Instead,Arya Stark stops the White Walkerswiththe Valyrian steel catspaw dagger. After so many visions and prophecies alluded to Daenerys saving the world, it amounted to nothing. This work of art, at least, features a climactic stand-off that could very well fulfill everything thatHouse of the Dragonpromises. Even if it is not the real finale, it offers insight into a more satisfying conclusion.

Our Take On This Game Of Thrones Art

It Showcases The Season 8 That Should Have Been

It is hard to overstate how incredible this art is. While it is somewhat dark, which can make it difficult to make out details, it adds to the overpowering darkness in the Long Night. The motion blurs speak to an ongoing blizzard, and Daenerys' appearance resembles Rhaenyra, which ties intoHouse of the Dragonwell. Had this image been inGame of Thrones' final episodes, it might have made for a better conclusion. Instead, it will remain in the realm of fan-created artwork, leaving Daenerys with her disappointing ending.
