Gabriel Macht will reprise his role as Harvey Specter inSuits: L.A., and his return all but confirms an old theory about Harvey’s connection to Stephen Amell’s Ted Black. According toDeadline,Macht will recur inSuits: L.A., with Harvey appearing in a three-episode arc of the spinoff series. This is the first and so far only confirmation of aSuitsactor returning inSuits: L.A.and it could not have been bigger news. While story details are unknown, an Instagram post from Macht has teased why Harvey will be in Los Angeles.
Suits’ series finaleended with Harvey and Donna leaving their corporate law days behind them to work with Mike and Rachel in their legal clinic in Seattle. Assuming Harvey is still working with Mike, Macht’s character now helps the little guy instead of assisting the biggest, most powerful clients in the country. Therefore, if Harvey were to appear in theupcomingSuitsspinoff, the series was going to have to find a clever way to incorporate him into the story. Apparently, the connection between Harvey andSuits: L.A.is Stephen Amell’s Ted Black.

Macht’s Suits: L.A. Return Confirms Harvey Specter & Ted Black Worked Together
Harvey Specter And Ted Black Both Worked At The DA’s Office In New York
Shortly after news broke that Harvey Specter was going to be inSuits: L.A,Gabriel Macht posted a videoon his Instagram in which he “suits up” whileGreenback Boogie,Suits’ theme song, plays in the background. The caption started with“When a friend is in need…,”strongly suggesting that Harvey Specter and Ted Black are friends who once worked together. This confirms one of the very firstSuits: L.A.theories about its connection to the original show being Amell’s character, who was once a prosecutor in New York before moving to LA and starting his own firm.
Before he was hired full-time by Jessica,Harvey worked as Assistant District Attorney. In other words, depending on how the timelines of both shows intersect, Harvey Specter would have most likely worked with Ted Black at some point before the events ofSuits. Macht’s caption doesn’t actually mention Amell’s character, but it is clear that the “friend in need” in question is Ted Black, the co-founder ofSuits: L.A.’s Black Lane Law. The similar background was too big of a coincidence forSuitsnot to make use of it after all.

As of the writing of this article, Mike’s return inSuits: L.A.has not been confirmed or rumored.
