A huge Gamefreak leak may have revealed the first Pokémon confirmed for the upcomingPokémon Legends: Z-A. The nextPokémongame will arrive sometime in early 2025 and will focus on Lumiose City from the Kalos Region. Like the previousLegendstitle, the game will includePokémonfrom different generations, as well as a few new names and variations on beloved mons.
Three existing Pokémon are rumored to be making an appearance in the upcoming game. According to the leak fromCentroLeakson X (reported byComicBook),Pokémon Legends: Z-Awill feature Mega evolutions of Zygrade and Zeraora. The game will alsoinclude Stunfisk from Gen 5.

Pokémon Legends: Z-A Will Bring New Versions Of Old Characters
There’s No Consensus On When The Game Takes Place
Pokémon Legends: Arceuswas the first game in theLegendsseries, introducing a new direction for the franchise. Instead of featuring a whole new generation of Pokémon, the game took a step back in time to showcase some ancient versions of established franchise mons. The second game in theLegendsseries looks to be doing the same, including Pokémon from different generations, despite taking place in the world ofPokémon: X&Y.
Three Most Likely Starters For Pokémon Legends: Z-A
Pokémon Legends: Z-A starters likely won’t be from the Kalos region, but will probably be pulled from existing Pokémon with French inspirations.
It’s generally accepted that thelegendary Pokémon Zygradeis the “Z” part ofPokémon: Z-A,so it’s not surprising to see it getting a Mega evolution. Zeraora and Stunfisk currently do not evolve, which leaves plenty of room for regional variations and Mega evolutions of both. What these versions will look like depends on whetherPokémon Legends: Z-Atakes place inthe past or the future, which is still unclear.

We Wonder If Pokémon Legends: Z-A Will Introduce A New Mechanic
What Exists Beyond Mega Evolutions?
Every iteration ofPokémonbrings with it new ways to level up and evolve Pokémon, fromX and Y’sMega evolutions toScarlet and Violet’sTerastallization. AlthoughArceusdidn’t go as big, opting instead to introduce new evolutions for existing evolution lines.
Since the game takes place in the universe ofX and Y, it will include Mega evolutions, but I wonder what other mechanics the game will introduce. I wouldn’t be too surprised to seeexisting Pokémon getting new evolutions, brand new Mega evolutions, and maybe something beyond even these. It would be interesting to see a temporary power-up system like Tera Pokémon, besides Megas.

As with any game leak, this information should be taken with a grain of salt. Still, it seems likely thatPokémon Legends: Z-Awill include Mega Zygrade, Mega Zeraora, and Stunfisk when it releases sometime in 2025.
