From Jason Lee to Justin Long to Jason Mewes, Kevin Smith has brought back a bunch of his regular collaborators to appear in the cast of his latest film,The 4:30 Movie. Shot in Smith’s own movie theater, Smodcastle Cinemas in Atlantic Highlands,The 4:30 Movieis his most personal film in years. It’s a coming-of-age comedy about a group of teenagers theater-hopping across a single day in the 1980s.

Like Wes Anderson and Martin Scorsese, Smith is known for working with the same actors over and over again. Part of that is because most of his films take place in an interconnected universe, the “View Askewniverse,”so a lot of actors play the same characters across different movies. But even his non-Askewniverse films, likeThe 4:30 Movie, have brought in frequent collaborators like Kate Micucci and Diedrich Bader.
