What Deadpool & Wolverine’s Digital Release Means For The Box Office
The MCU Movie Is Still After A Major Feat
Deadpool & Wolverinehas broken several box office records, but the movie hopes to add another milestone before it leaves theaters. The R-rated Marvel film is only a little under $16 million belowStar Wars: The Last Jedi, which isthe 20th highest-grossing movie of all time. WithDeadpool & Wolverinecoming to digital next week, that could impact its chances of entering the list of the 20 biggest movies of all time. However, the film will stay in theaters despite its release on digital, and since it made around $4 million last week, the major achievement could still come.
Our Take On Deadpool & Wolverine’s Home Release
The MCU Movie Comes To Digital With Plenty Of Surprises
As always, when it comes to a movie’s digital release, I’m excited to know about what bonus features are going to be available. As a fan of audio commentary from directors and cast members,I’m excited to check outDeadpool & Wolverineagain with insight shared by director Shawn Levy and Ryan Reynoldsthroughout, which should make for an even funnier experience. Talking about fun, a movie likeDeadpool & Wolverinepromises to have quite an entertaining gag reel to check out. I’m also excited by the wide variety of behind-the-scenes material, especially the featurette about assembling the legacy heroes.
That said, I can’t help but be a little let down by the deleted scenes revealed. One of them should be interesting, with Deadpool learning about the Sacred Timeline, but the others offer just a bit more detail to Paradox’s motives and a fun sequence with Peter and a couple of Deadpool variants. I was expecting something more substantial, perhaps with one of the multiverse heroes like Henry Cavill’s Wolverine or Chris Evans' Human Torch. While I wanted more from the deleted scenes, I’m overall happy withDeadpool & Wolverine’s announced bonus features and can’t wait for its digital release.
