In a preview forArcbound #1by Tom Hardy, Scott Snyder, Frank Tieri, Ryan Smallman and Frank William, Mediators Xander and Kai are in the middle of a fight on the Rinar Colony, fighting for the corporatocracy Zynitec to harness Kronium. However, the Colony is filled with colonists who refuse bow to the duo and take on the mediators.
Unfortunately, the Mediators are too tough thanks to their advanced ARC suits, which easily take out any threats. While Xander and Kai have the colonists handled,their command unleashes a powerful soldier known as Warr to finally end the conflict.

Fans may be more familiar with his roles in movies likeVenomandThe Dark Knight Rises, but earlier this year it was announced that beloved actor Tom Hardy was breaking into the comics scene withArcbound. This project doesn’t just team Hardy with high-profilecomic creators Scott Snyder, Frank Tieri, and Ryan Smallman, it’s the first in what Arcbound Studios' CEO Nick Rose hopes to be the first part of a multimedia franchise, including films and television. The team has been preparing fans for this new world bycreating anArcboundwebsite to detail the story’s lore and characters.
This preview is just a small glimpse into the world that the creative team has been working hard on and it can seem overwhelming if one hasn’t checked out the introductory material on the website. But it’s clear that the writers and artists involved with the world have been working hard to flesh out as much of the universe as possible, giving it a rich history and characters shaped by the unique experiences of this world. Building a universe from the ground up can be a difficult thing, butthe creators behindArcboundare putting everything into this new world.

TheArcboundteam have put a lot of thought and effort into their story. Between the lore, the characters and the art (which makes for some excellent battle scenes), this preview has a lot going for it. And by the sound of things, what Hardy, Snyder, Tieri, Smallman, and William have on the horizon is just the beginning for what could wind up being the beginning of the next big media franchise. It’s hard to say what to expect next. All that’s certain is that sci-fi readers aren’t going to want to missDark Horse’supcoming series.
