As Matt Murdock gets ready for his bigMarvel Cinematic Universereturn, the future ofDaredevil: Born Againgets teased in regards to the chances of multiple seasons. While it has been a long journey to get him back inthe MCU timeline, the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen is the next big hero in the franchise to get the spotlight with his new series,Daredevil: Born Again. However, as Matt will be headlining his own Marvel series again, there have been many questions about how longDaredevil: Born Againmay run.
In a new feature forEntertainment Weekly, Marvel Studios' Head of Streaming, Brad Winderbaum, was asked if the direction forDaredevil: Born Againwould warrant a multi-season run, as he stated that it’s"One-hundred percent it’s a multi-season show - I don’t know how many seasons it’ll run.“Daredevil himself, Charlie Cox, also weighed in onDaredevil: Born Againgoing beyond the two seasons that they are working on, stating that,“It would be cool for that journey to continue.”

One of the biggest criticisms of a lot of the early MCU TV shows on Disney+ was thatthey felt more like a traditional Marvel Studios movie split up into multiple parts, which is something Marvel Television has been moving away from as much as possible. Ever sinceDaredevil: Born Again’screative overhaul, the new series, along with future MCU TV shows, are now being constructed with the intention to go on for several seasons and follow a more traditional television formula.
While this could makeBorn Againanywhere from 3 seasons onward in length, that is still way more than what Disney+ has done for most of their Marvel Studios shows so far. That appears to also play a role in whyDaredevil: Born Againseason 1 is only nine episodes instead of 18 - which is what they had been picked up for originally -with the other nine likely now being used for what will be season 2.

Based on Winderbaum’s commentary, there have clearly been efforts to learn lessons from some of the responses to other MCU TV shows, which is whytheDaredevil: Born AgainTV showand beyond will have a different feel to them. Whether or notDaredevil: Born Againseason 3 happens will also depend on how the first two seasons perform on Disney+ and how it’s received by critics.
Based on Winderbaum and Cox’s responses, theDaredevil: Born Againstory is clearly something that they are excited to explore and expand for as long as they possibly can through Marvel Studios. Given how the Marvel-Netflix era was one of the most popular sides of the franchise, it will be exciting to see how Daredevil and other characters thrive in the current state of the MCU. With only two weeks left to go, fans will soon know what is in store withDaredevil: Born Againand its potential long future on Disney+.
