Stardew Valley Players On Console Are In For A Treat
The 1.6 Update Can’t Be Underestimated
Stardew Valleyhas received a plethora of major updates and upgrades since it was first released in 2016 and while the 1.6 Patch may not have introduced anything as massive as Ginger Island,it does include plenty of improvements. Most notably, it adds in new sequences, likethe Desert Festival, two small fishing festivals (dedicated to Trout and Squid), and Green Rain, a special environmental event that occurs in summer. Players can now strive to complete the Mastery system that is found in a new area and grants extra perks and powerful items.
The 1.6 Patch has also significantly overhauled NPC dialogue: Characters react to events that have occurred, have unique responses to gifts, and plenty of missing dialogue has now been restored. Farmers can keep multiple pets, which is a massive win for those who love both cats and dogs; Turtles can now also be adopted. Beyond all the smaller features, there’s also the new Meadowlands Farmthat’s designed specifically for those who prefer raising animals rather than farming crops.

Screen Rant’s Take: Console Players Have A Lot To Look Forward Too
It’s Been A Long Time Coming
Console players have waited a long time forStardew Valley’s 1.6 Update andit’s finally about to pay off. There’s not much more I can say about the sheer quality of the patch that hasn’t already been explained in detail, but the fact that ConcernedApe has worked so long and tirelessly to see this project through is a testament tohis commitment to the community. I can’t wait to see it on my Nintendo Switch; Having already played 1.6 on PC, nothing beats some farming on a Switch.
