Warning: Contains spoilers for Chainsaw Man chapter #177

Part Two ofChainsaw Manhas delivered on many of Part One’s promises, and now it seems like the promise of Power’s return is more likely than ever. Denji became a student, raised Nayuta to be his little sister, and got to live a normal life with her before everything was thrown entirely into turmoil, asChainsaw Manseems to like to do. Now, as the most recent chapter #177, titled, “Trigger Finger”,puts the War Devil’s devastating power on display, it seems that Part One’s most anticipated promise may soon be fulfilled.

Chainsaw Man kindly asking for donations at a blood drive, holding up a sign.

During fully-armored Pochita’s last appearance in the series, while fighting Makima, the Chainsaw Devil resigned from the battle, deciding that saving Denji was more important than taking down the Control Devil. However, he needed help in doing so, andit wasn’t until Power convinced Denji to live, sacrificing what little blood she had left to revive him, thatChainsaw Man’s protagonist returned. Now, having sustained considerable damage in the fight with Yoru, Pochita may once again be asking for Power’s help.

Chainsaw Man Goes to the Blood Drive

After Sustaining Damage, Pochita Kindly Asks for Blood Donations

Damaged, with one of his arms cleanly blown away by the War Devil’s new gun ability, Pochita flees from the fight and finds a nearby blood drive. While it can be inferred that Chainsaw Man is kindly asking for blood to regain his strength before returning to the battle,he’s been shown to regenerate without feeding on blood in the past. It was against the same attack Yoru used that he regenerated from nothing but his heart during the fight with Makima, making a need for blood now improbable.

One Of Chainsaw Man’s Biggest Villains Returns, & It Changes Everything

Chainsaw Man is in the middle of its tensest arc yet, and chapter #176 takes that even further with the return of one of its biggest villains.

Instead,Chainsaw Man may be trying to find Power once more, as he did in Part One. The last remaining plot thread to go unresolved from the Public Safety arc is Denji’s promise to find the new Blood Devil, and turn her back into Power. It’s entirely possible that Pochita was reminded of Power when hit with the very same"Bang" attack which killed the Blood Devil previously. While it’s uncertain to what degree she would be useful in the current battle, she has stood up to a Horseman devil in the past, andPochita may be looking for a powerful ally after Yoru called for the Tank and Gun Devils' help.

The New Blood Devil Won’t Be the Same Power

Though it seems there’s no better time for Power to make her grand return inChainsaw Man, it’s uncertain what Pochita would need her for at this moment. IfPochita truly is making a desperate attempt at saving Denji, there’s little chance his plan will work. Power made it clear that not only will she be a different Blood Devil when she returns, but also that the newest version would likely be Denji’s enemy. And if she’s as unruly as her past self, convincing the new Blood Devil to assist in any way might be a major pain.

There’s the possibility that Denji would voluntarily want to come back when he sees the new Blood Devil, remembering his promise and love for his original little sister. Regardless, whatever Pochita’s plan is, he may want to act upon it fast, as Yoru seems to currently be charging a new, powerful attack courtesy of the United States. Even if Power does make her grand return in time forChainsaw Man’sfinale, Denji is far from out of the woods.
