Warning: Contains spoilers for Blue Lock chapter #293.For almost four years now, the Neo Egoist League arc has beenBlue Lock’s biggest arc, by far. Not only does it encompass roughly half of the entire story, but every match within the arc has seen characters old and new go through incredible growth at every turn, with every moment perfectly conveyed in the manga’s gorgeous art style, as well.
The Neo Egoist League arc has been a massive arc from the start, and the biggest part of it has been the recent match between Germany’s Bastard Munchen and France’s PXG. Between featuring Isagi and Rin’s long-awaited rematch and the character development offered to them and other characters, it’s been a massive arc from a narrative standpoint, and very fittingly, the end of the PXG match inBlue Lockchapter #293 was nothing short of a masterpiece. There was no better way to conclude such an incredible match, and it makesBlue Lock’s future all the more exciting.

How Blue Lock Ended The Neo Egoist League’s Biggest Arc
Who Won The Final Match In Blue Lock’s Neo Egoist League?
In the final stage of the match between Bastard Munchen and PXG, Isagi and Kaiser were finally working together, resulting in Ness being pushed further away from Kaiser. All of that came to a head when a loose ball landed in range of Ness; Ness realized he needed to change as a player, as well, but he still wanted to support Kaiser, soNess purposefully made a big pass that, while good, wasn’t something that would work with the Kaiser Impact, hoping that Kaiser would go for it and accept that Ness could change as a player.
As it turned out, however, Ness made the wrong bet. Kaiser still didn’t believe Ness was capable of change and couldn’t go for the pass, so it was Isagi, the only one who bet on Ness’ evolution, who intercepted such an important pass at such a critical juncture. With Rin and everyone else on the field otherwise occupied, Isagi was completely free to take a shot, and sure enough,Isagi scored the final goal against PXG, winning Bastard Munchen the match and solidifying his victory against both Kaiser and Rin.

Blue Lock’s Biggest Match Shows Why Isagi Is Blue Lock’s Best Player
Why Isagi Is The Perfect Protagonist For Blue Lock
If there’s anything to take away from the PXG match, it’s proof of whyIsagi is the best player in Blue Lock. While Isagi is hardly the only player to succeed by taking advantage of allies and enemies alike, Isagi takes it further than anyone, with the PXG seeing Isagi learn to suppress all emotions beyond his drive to win to compete with the naturally talented.Isagi stands above all other characters inBlue Lockbecause of his incredible dedication to winning at all costs, and that was paid off in his ultimate victory in chapter #293.
Even the other characters are aware of Isagi’s unique talents. The players of Bastard Munchen repeatedly remark on how Isagi always pushes everyone to be better, and in the most recent match ofBlue Lock: Episode Nagi, Nagi and Barou were haunted by their memories of Isagi to the point that they rework their plays because they know Isagi would have stopped them. The most recent developments of theBlue Lockmangahave all highlighted the heights of Isagi’s determination and how it affects everyone else, and that’s why he’s been the ideal protagonist ofBlue Lockfrom day one.

Where Does Blue Lock Go After Finishing Its Biggest Story Arc?
What Else Is In Store For The Blue Lock Manga?
With the PXG match finally over and the Neo Egoist League arc soon to follow, that begs the question of what’s next forBlue Lock. While the past year has been centered around Bastard Munchen vs. PXG, there’s one last match in the Neo Egoist League: Spain’s Barcha, the team Bachira plays for, against England’s Manshine City, the team Chigiri, Nagi, and Reo play for.Blue Lock’s Neo Egoist League arc won’t truly end until after Barcha vs. Manshine City plays out, and even if the entire match won’t be shown, it’s still going to be big for everyone involved.
As for what happens after that, the point of the Neo Egoist League was to determine Blue Lock’s best players who would become Japan’s new U-20 team for the World Cup, soBlue Lock’s next arc will most likely be the final preparations Isagi and everyone has to go through before they’re ready to play in the World Cup. If that arc has any of the incredible highs of the Neo Egoist League arc, then it will solidifyBlue Lock’s reputation as one of thebest sports manga of all time, and overall, that would be great to see.
