Wolverinemay be the best there is at what he does, butBatmanis trying to see if he can do one move better.Marvel and DC Comics are alwayspoking fun at one another with gags and references, and now the Dark Knight is taking a page out of Logan’s book.

It may only be March, but fans are getting a look at what lies ahead later this year thanks to DC Comics' June solicitations. There are a lot of goodies this month, but fans of the Big Two will no doubt get a kick out of one amazing variant cover.

Superman and Batman Just Re-Created Wolverine and Colossus' Best Move

It’s not uncommon for heroes to combine their respective strengths or skills to create exciting combo moves. The Flash and his fellow speedsters often pool their speeds to create powerful vortexes, while Hawkeye and Ant-Man delighted fans by having the shrunken hero ride on one of the archer’s arrows. But no team-up move in comics is more beloved than the Fastball Special, pioneered by Wolverine and Colossus.Using Colossus’ strength and Wolverine’s ferocity and density, the two crafted one of the most effective and, frankly, coolest-looking movesa couple of superheroes could ever perform.

Fans shouldn’t be surprised that Batman is riffing on Wolverine in Cons' cover. After all, Bruce and Logan are two of the biggest icons in their respective universes. They even fought one another in theMarvel vs. DCcrossover and merged into one combined being during the short-lived Amalgam Comics imprint (lest anyone forget about how cool Dark Claw was). It’s cool to see how well Bruce and Clark pull this move off, and it’s actually a bit surprising that they’ve never done it. If anything, this variant shows that Batman and Superman should actually use this move in canon.

Batman Should Be a Bit More Like Wolverine (In This One Instance)

Clark and Bruce Could Make Good Use of the Fastball Special

Admittedly, the two heroes are already cut from the same cloth. But let’s face it, Wolverine doesn’t take himself as seriously as Batman, allowing Logan to come up with such a creative and cool move like the Fastball Special. While Bruce is generally a little too rigid to pull off a move like that in the heat of battle, it’s a decent attack that always takes foes by surprise (and come on, Superman has to have a better pitching arm than Colossus). IfBatmanactually took a cue fromWolverine, he might be able to improve on Logan’s infamous move.

Batman/Superman: World’s Finest #40is available on June 18th from DC Comics.
