The initial concept of ARC (Avatar Legends: Realms Collide) wasinspired by a storyline set in a world of elemental spirits, where numerous heroes embark on a journey to protect the material world from an impending attack.Building upon this foundation, we worked collaboratively with Tilting Point and Nickelodeon to expand the story, introducing original characters from ARC, such as Chanyu and the Shattered Skulls, while weaving in the overarching presence of Father Glowworm to create a rich and dynamic narrative.
ScreenRant: How did you decide to include Avatar characters from different time-periods?

JunHyoung Lee: Avatar features a diverse range of characters, each with their own unique stories and charm. We understand that different gamers are drawn to different types of heroes, so our goal was to provide as many players as possible with the opportunity to interact with the characters they are most excited about. To achieve this, we decided to introduce characters from all eras, ensuring that players can experience the appeal of these heroes across different time periods.

This Avatar: The Last Airbender Fan Theory Could Predict Seven Havens’ New Avatar
Each Avatar in the Avatar: The Last Airbender franchise learns from the past, whether by listening to advice or avoiding previous mistakes.
ScreenRant: How did you go about designing original characters like Chanyu and the ShatteredSkulls?
JunHyoung Lee: We chose to begin the story in the heart of the material world, the Si Wong Desert, toset the stage for a narrative rooted in survival and personal struggle. Instead of just introducing a traditional villain, we wanted to create a story where each character’s journey was driven by their own choices, challenges, and the harsh realities they face.
Our goal was to craft compelling, multi-dimensional characters whose stories unfold over time, allowing players to connect with them on a deeper level. These individual journeys will be explored and revealed progressively through future updates in ARC.
