Takeda Castleis a huge fortress found inAssassin’s Creed Shadows' Tamba region, but despite its size and late-game level, it’s possible to do a clean infiltration if you know how. Whether you stumble across the castle in free roam or not, you’ll ultimately have to take it on for Yasuke’s “End of the Line” quest if you want tocomplete his story. Regardless, taking out all five samurai daisho scattered throughout the complex and nabbing all of the castle’s loot will have to be done on your own time.
Assassinating each daisho in Takeda Castle will get you access to a Legendary Chest containing the Hidden Servant Hat. Naoe is the best choice to progress through the castle in a stealthy manner, unsurprisingly, but you can also tackle it as Yasuke and ignore the rooftop approaches and assassination recommendations in this guide.

Takeda Castle Location
Look To The Left Of The Tamba Region
Takeda Castle is located at the very far left of the map in the middle of the Tamba region, which will be designated by an illustration of a major castle before you reveal the area. If you haven’t explored Tamba, it won’t be close to anywhere you’ve previously visited, but the main road will take you there without any trouble from the north, south, or east. You can safely approach the castle from the main road winding up the hill until you reach guards.
All Samurai Daisho Locations In Takeda Castle
Start From The South End
Once you reach the main gate of Takeda Castle, turn left and use the overhanging tree to reach the nearby courtyard on the south end of the castle rather than entering open conflict. Starting with a drop assassination, you can stealth your way through this area and carefully continue upward until you reach thefirst samurai daisho, who can be found in the upper half of Takeda Castle’s south wing. Drop the alarm bell before working your way through the guards and assassinating the daisho.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows: How To Fully Explore Miki Castle
Miki Castle has a nice piece of legendary gear inside, but you might want to know how to track down and eliminate each samurai daisho first.
From here, head up toward the center of the castle. Thesecond daisho can be found in the central courtyard, right around the icon for Takeda Castle on the map. This one might be difficult totake down in a single assassination– I tackled the castle two levels below the recommended level of 42 and couldn’t one-drop him – so clear out the nearby guards and building before dealing with him.

Thethird daisho is located directly to the northwest of this courtyard. Climb the wall and drop assassinate him from above. He may also take some extra work, but there shouldn’t be more than one other guard anywhere nearby, so you shouldn’t have to worry about making a big scene.
Proceed to the northeast via the rooftops to find the fourth samurai daishositting in the open. There’s an alarm bell not far from here, so drop that first if you can. If you time it correctly with guard movements, you should be able to stealthily assassinate the daisho (although the body will still be discovered). I made a mistake on the timing here and ended up in open conflict, but if this does happen, there are luckily some rations nearby.

You can also drop outside the walls here to escape conflict and recharge health if you need to.
Thefifth and final samurai daisho is in the northern courtyard of Takeda Castle, which you should also approach from a vertical position. For safety, you should clear out yard to his west first. you’re able to then blow up some barrels to kill anywhere from one to three guards and approach the daisho for a final assassination when the course is clear.

Legendary Chest Location In Takeda Castle
Hit The Tenshu When You’re Done
Takeda Castle’s Legendary Chest can be found in the central tenshu of the castle, so head back toward the tallest tower after dealing with the fifth daisho. you may approach the tower from outside and enter on the top floor to avoid conflict, but you can pick up a couple more chests by going through the rest of the building. The legendary Chest contains the following contents:
The Hidden Servant Hat and associated engraving give Naoe much more adrenaline after assassinations, helping to recharge her skill usage. This isn’t as useful as assassination perks that take out more health chunks when attempting to commit fully to stealth, but it’s a helpfulpiece of legendary armorwhen using assassination as a way to get a head start in brawls.

Other Rewards In Takeda Castle
Chests & Kura Sheds
you’re able to pick up most of Takeda Castle’s chests along the way of the recommended daisho path, starting with one that sits out in the open in the southwest courtyard.Moving toward the center of the castle, you’ll find a small building with a kura keyinside and a shed nearby, which you can hit or skip as you please.

If you’re thorough about clearing out the central area of the castle, you’ll find several mid-sized chests without trouble. One can be found in the building to the west of the first daisho, and other is in a guardhouse near the tenshu as you move northeast. The large building on the northwest end of the second daisho’s courtyard houses another.

The building to the west of the fifth daisho contains another kura keyfor the nearby shed, which has a chest and some resources inside. After assassinating the daisho, you can grab another mid-sized chest out in the open. Once you hit the tenshu at the end, you’ll have made a clean run of Takeda Castle inAssassin’s Creed Shadowsand cleaned up everything worthwhile inside.
