Arcaneseason 2 will introduce emotional arcs for its two lead characters, Vi and Jinx. The show is an animated adventure set in the world ofLeague of Legends, whichis prepared to return with new episodes starting November 9. WhileArcaneseason 2 will be its last, it will also serve as the sophomore season for a show that has earned praise from critics and audiences. It also became a standout Netflix series, dominating the platform’s viewership metrics during its three-phased release.
In an interview withScreen Rantabout the upcoming season, co-creator Christian Linke opened up about the differences between the seasons. While season 1 sets up Jinx and Vi’s emotional conflicts, season 2 will put them in a position to finally reckon with who they are. Jinx will be alone and independent, while Vi no longer has a place in the undercity. Both arcs will have a massive influence on the characters. Check out his full explanation below:

Well, it’s become so much more difficult now. What makes a difference is that now Silco is no more, for the first time, Jinx has to make her own decisions. There’s no one there to tell her who she’s supposed to be, which was a really big change. And for Vi, I think, suddenly feeling like an outsider in the Undercity, and seeing also the Undercity start to think of Jinx as the true Zaunite, and the person that stands up to the aggression of the topsiders is a difficult thing for Vi to deal with. So, I think there is a bit of these new identities that they have for each other, and also for themselves, that suddenly Vi is really kind of no longer at home in the Undercity, and Jinx suddenly is like, “Who am I? Who do I want to be when no one tells me what I’m supposed to be?” Which I think we were really, really excited by. So, that’ll be really a big part of it.
What The New Identities Mean For Arcane
Jinx & Vi Will Change Immensely
Vi and Jinx have had massive growth throughout the show and continue to evolve with every passing episode. Vi is still attempting to reconnect with her roots after her long-term imprisonment at the Stillwater Hold Prison. Jinx, meanwhile, recently killed Silco, who had been a long-term ally and father figure for her. Though she was devastated by his death, Jinx embraced her identity as a violent killer, seemingly casting aside Vi forever.Jinx is also suffering from shimmer corruption, which enhances her physical abilities but also causes continued mental struggles.
Their emotional relationship will be at the heart of the upcoming season.

With Vi and Jinx at such an unstable place in their lives, they may struggle to ever recover and embrace a positive relationship.TheArcaneseason 2 trailerrevealed thatVi believes that her sister is dead, as thoroughly corrupted as she is. The trailer even showcased a fight between the siblings, which is further proof of just how far they have fallen. Their emotional relationship will be at the heart of the upcoming season. As the leading characters, it is only natural that Vi and Jinx’s conflict will determine the show’s direction, even with the Arcane arriving.
Our Take On Arcane’s Emotional Arc
Jinx And Vi Need A True Conclusion
Jinx and Vi have always had a complicated relationship. Vi’s demeaning insult is how Jinx adopted her new name after all. Though they were close as children, the years separated them. By the end of the season, it is unlikely that they will remain apart. Jinx is alone in the world, and her conflicts with Vi have largely been based on misunderstandings. She even killed Silco after he threatened Vi, proving Jinx’s love for Vi. While the showhas been subversive,Arcaneseason 2will still likely feature something akin to a happy ending.
