Black Myth: Wukongrolled out a new patch, and it includes a ton of awesome new features that will dramatically improve gameplay, as well as some beautiful new armor. The Armor Set Of Opulence Celebrates The Chinese New Year
The new patch, detailed on the officialBlack Myth: Wukongwebsiteheishenhua, includes an entirely new Armor Set available to all players at the Keeper’s Shrine, regardless of progression. The Destined One will find four new special armor pieces"crafted to celebrate the upcoming Chinese New Year"in the form of a “Trailblazer’s Gift” at any Keeper’s Shrine in their journey.The set is sure to get players in the spirit of the New Yearand spread"joy and prosperity all year round."

Crafting armor is Black Myth: Wukong is an essential part of the game and can offer a wide variety of unique buffs. A set bonus is build defining.
The Armor Set of Opulence is only one of the many new items introduced in the patch update, and is a great way to give new players more variety as they begin the game. Various other new rare items will also be included as rewards for the Challenge Mode and will complement this set in interesting ways. The addition and inclusion of all these new items isa promising sign of what might be in store forBlack Mythgoing forward, and hassome fans speculatingabout an upcoming possible DLC, though nothing official has been announced.

Challenge Types Include “Return Of Rivals” And “Gauntlet Of Legends”
One of the many new features introduced in the new patch is the Challenge gameplay mode, available onceplayers reach NG+. This will be added to the Keeper’s Shrine menu and will include two different types: the “Return of Rivals” and the “Gauntlet of Legends.” The first Challenge mode allows players in NG+ to"challenge a former opponent to a duel"at three different difficulty levels. This is essentially a rematch feature that will only be available for bosses that have already been defeated in the playthrough, though it’s unclear now how players will be rewarded.

The “Gauntlet of Legends” Challenge is the most difficult mode available, allowing the Destined One to"battle against multiple opponents in succession, using customized curses to tailor the difficulty.“This mode will be especially challenging because bosses “may surprise [players] with new moves,” an exciting new feature coming with the Gauntlet of Legends.Each Gauntlet rewards new rare treasures, including a formula for a new medicine, the Glimmering Scale Pellets, new Drinks & Soaks, Curios, a Three Hill Crown, and three new staffs - the Qing Mallet, Fanged Cyan Staff, and Leeching Centipede Staff.

The Journeyer’s Chart: A Practical Addition To Black Myth
Perhaps the most practical addition toBlack Myth: Wukongin the newest patch is the inclusion of a map feature that seemed like a glaring omission from the game in its original form. It seemsdevelopers at GameScience have heard the resounding calls to add a map,as the patch introduces the Journeyer’s Chart and gives players a sense of where they are that doesn’t require using landmarks or guesswork.“A remarkable one has captured these landscapes, organizing them into charts for guidance and marking"that can be purchased at Keeper’s Shrines.
When the Destined One firstenters the Black Wind Mountainand meets the Keeper, he will give players their first Journeyer’s Chart, allowing them to navigate the maps much more easily. In each subsequent area, theJourneyer’s Charts can be purchased from the Keeper’s Shrinestore once players make their way into the location and find the first Shrine. This new map feature will be a saving grace for players both old and new, and will make navigating the later Chapters much simpler, or as Game Science puts it:“Let the chart chart the journeyer’s journey.”
New Music Library Function in Black Myth: Wukong
The New Update Gives Players A Soundtrack Selection Option
If all of that wasn’t enough, Game Science also decided to add a very cool music library function to the game. There will now be a “Black Myth: WukongSoundtrack Selection” as a soundtrack application that allows players to listen to all the (non-copyrighted) material they want and choose between available scores. They did note that “due to configuration issues on EPIC, purchasers of Black Myth: Wukong Deluxe Edition Upgrade may experience delays in receiving the soundtrack selection.” The musical features of the new update are just icing on the cake for fans ofBlack Myth: Wukong.

Not everyone agrees that Black Myth: Wukong deserves GOTY at The Game Awards, but there are at least ten reasons that make it a top contender.
Overall, this patch includes some serious additional content that promises to give players plenty to do over the holiday season. It’s worth noting that, as of this writing, the patch has only been released on Epic Games, not on Steam or console, and GameScience has only indicated that the patch will be released"gradually on other platforms.“The timeframe for the patch roll-out isn’t entirely clear, so anyone who does not use EPIC will have to wait it out until the patch updates fully launch.
