There are over 2000+ collectibles inSouth of Midnight,and they come in a few different varieties. One such collectible type requires help from Hazel’s patchwork ragdoll companion, Crouton. Hazel can summon Crouton to get into small areas and tiny openings to either clear the way for Hazel or collect a little extra Floof from piles of stones. You won’t have access to Crouton until the beginning of Chapter 5 in South of Midnight, and afterward, he will be available as a summons action and to use in battle as a sort of grenade.
With so many different collectible items, it’s easy to get overwhelmed andcall it quits forSouth of Midnight. However, these are a little easier to digest if you know what to look for as you play through each chapter. You won’t have access to Crouton until chapter 5, which is also the first time you’ll find one of the piles of stones that he collects Floof from. There are 19 stone piles in the entire game, sokeep an eye out for Crouton’s special areas,as you’ll need to track these down to collect all the Floofs. Not every chapter has a Crouton Floof location or tunnel, but there are still other collectibles to grab there, like theSouth of Midnight’sTin Flips. The chapters without Crouton locations are Chapters 1–4, 8, 12, 13, and 14.

All Crouton Floof Locations In South Of Midnight
Track Down All 19 Crouton Floof Locations
Chapter 5 is the first chapter you’ll have access to Crouton, and there are two stone piles right off the bat. The first one is right next to where you unlock Crouton, and the next is under a trailer in the following area. For the third pile,after throwing Crouton for the first time, throw him again to go into the shack on the other side of the water.
South Of Midnight: All Health Filament Upgrade Locations
Health Filaments in South of Midnight are collectibles you can find to increase Hazel’s max health as you explore various story Chapter locations.
There are five stone piles of Floof for Crouton to collect in Chapter 6, with a few of them beingglowing tunnels that are hard to miss. Check the very back of the garden in Chapter 6 behind a shed with a barricade that can be broken. There’s also a bedroom that you can send Crouton into through the small opening in the boarded-up door.

There are three Crouton stone Floof locations in Chapter 7, and they’re all relatively straightforward.The second location is under a shack near the repair shopand can be easy to overlook, but there’s a crawlspace to send Crouton under the pile of Floof stones.

There are no Crouton Floof stone locations in Chapter 8, so the next one to watch for is in Chapter 9, in the same area after you clear the first stigma around the holler. Look for the glowing tunnel after the roots clear.The second one in this area is inside the warehouseafter using Crouton to start the generator. After leaving the office, look to your right for a breakable barrier at the top of a set of stairs.

Overall, Crouton Floof stone locations are only a minor collectible compared to the sheer number of other collectibles you’ll have to track down throughout Hazel’s journey. Many of these Crouton tunnels have little puzzles and platforming tricks of their own, so watch out for the spiked thorns and fire ants crawling around. You’ll only have 19 Floof locations to pick up with Crouton throughout the game, so be sure to look for the glowing tunnels and small openings that Hazel can’t fit through.
