Enchanted cards are one of the most exciting parts of anyDisney Lorcanaexpansion, andthe best Enchanted cards ofShimmering Skiescertainly live up to that ideal. As the rarest cards inDisney Lorcana, Enchanteds can be hard to find in the wild, and opting for standard variants of each is often the more feasible strategy. With exclusive foil art that stands out from the pack, however, pulling an Enchanted is definitely a thrilling moment for any collector.

Shimmering Skiesalso features a minor re-design to the style of Enchanted cards, making the info boxes take up less space so that the art can properly stretch to every border of the card. This makesShimmering SkiesEnchanted cards even more striking at a glance, and the coolest ones could easily be the pride of anyDisney Lorcanacollection.

10Vanellope Von Schweetz - Sugar Rush Princess

206/204, Amber

The addition of Vanellope von Schweetz to theDisney Lorcanaline-up is one of the bigfeatures ofShimmering Skies, so it’s only fair to acknowledge her Enchanted card as one of the coolest. Both versions of the Vanellope von Schweetz - Sugar Rush Princess card feature her signing a royal edict in princess attire, but the Enchanted card steps things up with a stylish signature that literally leaps off the page.

Disney Lorcana co-designers Ryan Miller and Steve Warner share their fondest memories and biggest challenges, tease Pixar cards, and explain Bucky.

Despite Vanellope’s status as a princess inWreck-it-Ralph, she’s never made the cut in the official princess canon. It’s nice to see that side of her celebrated inDisney Lorcana, andthe Enchanted art by Natalie Dombois depicts her radiantly, with sunlight beaming in from an elaborately styled window behind her seat.

9You’re Welcome

213/204, Emerald

“You’re Welcome” stands out as one of the most memorable modern Disney songs thanks to a memorably playful animated scene, which calls back the vivid experimentation of Renaissance era in a way that most of Disney’s CGI films never achieve. TheDisney LorcanaEnchanted card named after the song actually managed to replicate some of this concept, putting Maui front and center but stylizing the background in a way that recalls the original number.

In the Enchanted artwork by Stefano Zanchi, patterns and cutouts swirl behind Maui, who poses mid-dance with a beaming smile on his face. The joyous energy might not be quite as welcome for a player on the receiving end of the card, but Maui’s never been one to stop and reflect on those who aren’t enthused by his presence.

8Donald Duck - Pie Slinger

214/204, Ruby

Donald Duck has long been one of the most iconic Disney characters, and by the timeShimmering Skiesrolled around, he was well overdue for an Enchanted card of his own. Donald Duck - Pie Slinger gives the feisty fowl his proper spotlight, an appropriate celebration of his 90th anniversary in 2024.

The Enchanted version of Donald Duck - Pie Slinger, illustrated by Gabriel Quinn, features Donald’s signature fierce smileas he holds a pie aloft in the middle of a food fight. Knowing Donald’s luck, his victorious stance on the card as he prepares to fling a pie might not last for long, but few Disney characters can scrap as well as he can. Hopefully, Pie Slinger will only be the start of many Donald Enchanted cards to come in futureDisney Lorcanasets.

7Clarabelle - Light On Her Hooves

211/204, Emerald

Clarabelle - Light on Her Hooves is the perfectDisney LorcanaEnchanted card for fans of the underdog. Although Clarabelle played a major role in early Mickey Mouse shorts and other classic material, she’s been largely forgotten in the modern age.Mickey, Donald, Goofy: The Three Musketeersand the throwbackvideo gameEpic Mickeyare a couple of notable 21st century appearances for the character, but it’s safe to say that she lacks the household name recognition of other characters in Mickey’s inner circle.

Disney Lorcana: Shimmering Skies Illumineer’s Trove & Card Binders Review - The Good Times Keep Rolling

Disney Lorcana’s Shimmering Skies Illumineer’s Trove is good value, and its binder product is nice, too.

The Enchanted version of Clarabelle - Light on Her Hooves, illustrated by Natalie Dombois, bathes the character in lightas she dances gracefully. It’s an appropriately celebratory moment that lets her sparkle, and even for those who don’t care about the character, it’s a fantastic-lookingShimmering Skiescard all around.

6Prince Naveen - Ukulele Player

205/204, Amber

Although it might not have crushed the box office likeFrozendid,The Princess and the Frogcould very well be one of the best Disney princess movies, and Prince Naveen played no small part in making it great. While Tiana definitely steals the show, Naveen has an intense character arc that brings him from a vapid, self-centered figure to a truly caring individual without missing a beat along the way.

Prince Naveen - Ukulele Player renders Naveen with all his typical charm as he strums his ukulele, courtesy of some beautiful art by Aisha Durmagambetova. With the moonlight framing his face, the card evokes a rich atmosphere despite a mostly impressionistic setting, and some dancing silhouettes in the background bring home the vibrancy of the vignette. Although Tiana hasn’t yet received an Enchanted card, it would be nice if she gets one in the future to make a pair.

5Snow White - Fair-Hearted

220/204, Steel

Snow White - Fair-Hearted doesn’t have as complicated of a composition or scene as some otherDisney Lorcana: Shimmering Skiescards, but it uses its simplicity incredibly well. Although she isn’t the most obvious choice among the Disney Princess lineup to don armor,Disney Lorcanahas taken to reinventing the princesses, and the results for Snow White are spectacular in this case.

Disney Lorcana’s 10 Best Shimmering Skies Cards

They’re not all the most valuable of the bunch, but the best cards for Disney Lorcana: Shimmering Skies play are no joke at the game table.

The key here is how well Snow White’s original outfit and demeanor are maintained in the Enchanted artwork by Otto Schmidt, with a large shield and a partial suit of armor fitting into her classic outfit in a surprisingly unobtrusive way. A songbird on her finger completes the picture, conveying the image of a stalwart guardian rather than a militant warrior.

4Arthur - King Victorious

221/204, Steel

Arthur holding Excalibur aloft is a triumphant scene that’s been depicted countless times throughout history, so taking it on even in the context of a card game isn’t something to be taken lightly. Arthur - King Victorious steps up to the task admirably, depicting Arthur as seen inThe Sword in the Stonewith a scroll in one hand and the gleaming sword in the other.

The Sword in the Stonedoesn’t always get the attention it should as a thoroughly charming and playful animated film, but Arthur’s gotten his flowers inDisney Lorcana, having previously appeared on theRise of the FloodbornWizard’s Apprentice Enchanted.Lisa Parfenova’s artwork for the Enchanted version of King Victorious shows Arthur at a height thatDisney Lorcanahadn’t previously awarded him, however, moving past his days as a fumbling apprentice to show the heroic outcome of that study.

3Scar - Vengeful Lion

212/204, Emerald

Among an incredible lineup of Disney villains, Scar is a contender for having the most perfectly theatrical presence, and Scar - Vengeful Lion makes perfect use of his flair for the dramatic. With green streaks swirling behind him like in the “Be Prepared” musical number fromThe Lion King, it’s hard to think of a more perfect fit for an Emerald card.

The Enchanted artwork for Scar - Vengeful Lion, courtesy of Dominik Mayer, highlights Scar’s wicked grinas he holds a paw aloft. Behind him, Rafiki’s art of the young Simba is scratched out on the rock wall, but anyone familiar withThe Lion Kingshould be perfectly aware that his smug triumph won’t last forever.

2Archimedes - Electrified Owl

208/204, Amethyst

It might be unfair to usurp Arthur’s - Shining Moment by giving accolades to his mentor’s owl, but Archimedes - Electrified Owl is too good of a card to ignore. It’s one of the most immediately striked Enchanted releases forDisney Lorcanayet, leaning fully into the possibilities of painterly stylization to make the most of a scene that could otherwise be uninspiring.

1Mufasa - Ruler of Pride Rock

217/204, Sapphire

Scar has a greatDisney Lorcana: Shimmering SkiesEnchanted card, but as always, his brother manages to outshine him. Mufasa - Ruler of Pride Rock depicts the ruler of the Pride Lands in all of his splendor, and the noble image could hardly be more different from Scar’s scheming visage.

The Enchanted version of Mufasa - Ruler of Pride Rock, illustrated by Jochem van Gool, leans into the hyper-vivid style ofThe Lion King. The red of Mufasa’s mane pops out against the Sapphire Ink blue used to color the magic that swirls around him and the sky behind.Simba received an Enchanted cardinDisney Lorcana: The First Chapter, so the male line has now been thoroughly represented.
