Few characters have reached the mainstream popularity ofHarley Quinn. Starting as just a one-off side character inBatman: The Animated Series, she proved to be so popular and eye-catching that she was eventually rolled over into the comic books. Since then, Harley has appeared in tons of stories and interacted with tons of characters, and some have even become love interests.
Everyone knows that Harley Quinn’s main love interest has been the Joker for far longer than not. She was introduced as Joker’s bench woman and quickly upgraded to his girlfriend, and she stayed that way for several years. Eventually, she ditched the clown and started living her own life, which included spending time with a few new romantic partners. From Batman to Poison Ivy, these are ten romantic love interests Harley Quinn has had besides Joker.

10Mason Macabre Was A “Normal” Love Interest For Harley
Harley Quinn#9 by Amanda Conner, Jimmy Palmiotti, John Timms, Paul Mounts, and John J. Hill.
The heart-throb next door, Mason Macabre, was one of the tenants in the apartment building Harley Quinn lived in. Mason was one of the first new love interests for Harley after she separated herself from the Joker, but aside from the fact he was a giant muscular man who lived with his mother, he wasn’t particularly notable.
The biggest thing of note about their relationship was the fact Harley broke him out of Arkham Asylum at one point, where Mason’s cell was directly next to the Joker’s. This granted Harley the much-needed opportunity to say her peace on Joker and finally reject him once and for all. Their relationship really didn’t last long outside of theNew 52and overall, Mason is one of the more forgettable love interests she’s had.

9Harley Quinn & Deadshot Were A Destructive Pair
Harley Quinn and Deadshot have spent alotof time together. Since they’reboth members of the Suicide Squad, they’ve been in tons of life-or-death situations and traveled the world together. It’s natural that affection might bloom between the two, but considering just how unstable they both are, it rarely goes well. During one particular instance, Harley kidnapped Deadshot, tied him to a chair, and laid Joker’s cut-off face over Deadshot’s, so she could have a mock therapy session with him.
There’s simply no denying that the two are often paired together and definitely have a history of flirting with one another, but they’ve never been put together as an actual item. Considering how Deadshot has a child to take care of, as well as a death wish, and Harley’s own instability, it’s likely for the best that these two have never officially gotten together.
Harley Quinn Makes DC History with Major Feat That Justifies Her Bat-Family Membership
Absolute Power has scattered the Bat-Family and with Gotham in complete chaos, Harley Quinn rises to the occasion to be the savior the city needs.
8Harley Quinn & Lobo Were A Surprisingly Good Match
Harley’s Little Black Book#6 by Amanda Conner, Jimmy Palmiotti, Simon Bisley, Paul Mounts, and Dave Sharpe
A fairly new aspect of Harley Quinn’s character is the fact she can break the fourth wall, and she does it fairly often, with DC’s solicitations for her issues even being written from her point of view. Another major character who loves to break the fourth wall is the Main Man Lobo. Because of this, the two have been paired up twice and have remained good friends in both instances. The first was during a time when Harley Quinn found herself on a spaceship and had to team up with Lobo to escape. The entire time, they were flirting heavily and even shared a few quick kisses.
But because Lobo spends thevastmajority of his time in outer space, instead of on Earth, their relationship was doomed from the start. In the far future ofOld Lady Harley, they were also exes and were on good enough terms to greet one another with a kiss.
7Janet From HR Was Another ‘Normal’ Love Interest For Harley
Poison Ivy#24 by G. Willow Wilson, Haining, Arif Prianto, Hassan and Otsmane-Elhaou
Poison Ivy and Harley have met a ton of people during their travels around the world and one of the most interesting wasJanet from HR. Janet used to work at a chemical plant and was pulled into the chaotic life of Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn. While being nothing more than a civilian, Janet would get surprisingly close to the two girls, even ending up sleeping with Poison Ivy and kissing Harley on another occasion.
Considering just how normal Janet is, she seems like a perfect foil to Harley’s madness. While they only shared a kiss, there was definitely a romantic spark between the two, and if things don’t work out with Ivy, Janet might just be the perfect option for Harley, as she could provide a realistic outlook on the world and keep Harley grounded.
Injustice: Ground Zeroby Christopher Sebela, Pop Mhan, Rex Lokus, Wes Abbott
The world ofInjusticeis an incredibly dark one, as the Joker succeeds in killing Lois Lane and tricking Superman into destroying Metropolis. Because of this tragedy, Superman decides that he can’t let madmen run wild in the world anymore. This results in Superman trying to take over the world, with only Batman and his resistance opposing him. This resulted in a five-year war between the two factions, and occasionally characters would switch sides. That was the hope Harley Quinn had when she met Shazam. He was everything Superman was supposed to be, plus he had the magical power to take Superman down.
But despite her flirting and her genuine interest in him as a person, Harley was never able to convince Shazam to betray Superman, which eventually resulted in Superman killing Shazam. It’s likely for the best that this relationship never went anywhere though, since unbeknownst to Harley, Shazam was actually Billy Batson, a young boy.
Harley Quinn Never Paid For Causing the Death of Millions
The Joker is one of the worst DC villains, but in the uber-dark Injustice universe, Harley Quinn is equally to blame for their shared crimes.
5Harley Quinn Was Happily Married To Dick Grayson (in The Future)
Old Lady Harleyby Frank Tieri, Inaki Miranda, Eva de la Cruz, and Dave Sharpe
When it comes to physically attractive characters, it’s pretty hard to deny that both Nightwing and Harley Quinn are up there. They’re both humans at the absolute peak of physical fitness and are just incredible to look at. Which is why it’s no surprise that some people have considered the idea of seeing them together. InOld Lady Harley, that seems to be exactly what happened. While it’s not seen directly, Harley mentions that for a few good years, she was happily married to Dick Grayson, and this marriage only ended when he was killed in action.
Considering Harley hasplentyof exes inOld Lady Harley, the fact her marriage to Grayson only ended because he died, seems to imply that they were pretty happy together and that the marriage could’ve continued. It’s certainly an odd pairing, but consideringHarley Quinn and Nightwingare both Olympic-level gymnasts, they’d likely have plenty to talk about.
4Booster Gold Is Harley’s Most Surprising Love Interest
Harley Quinn#74 by Sam Humpries, Sami Basri, Hi-Fi Design, and Dave Sharpe
Another oddball choice for a love interest of Harley Quinn’s is none other than Booster Gold. Booster comes from the far future to use his high-tech gadgets to become a superhero and celebrity. He was motivated purely by self interest and greed, but eventually, he’d grow into an actual true hero. It’s possible that Harley Quinn was able to relate to the idea of eventually growing into a hero, as she hadplentyof work to do to redeem herself from her villain days as well. The two shared a short but fairly passionate fling, but it never really went anywhere.
The fact they were able to nearly start up a relationshipat allwas pretty impressive though, considering their last major encounter was inHeroes in Crisis, where they both believed each other to be the perpetrator of a massive massacre. They tried to kill one another a few times, but it seems they’ve been able to forgive one another and move past it.
3Selina Kyle Was Harley’s Ex-Wife In The Far Future
As said before, Harley has had alotof romantic interests over the years. In theOld Lady Harleyfuture, it seems that Selina Kyle was one of the many love interests that Harley had, even marrying her at one point. Readers don’t get to see much of how their marriage was, but considering how they acted after, it seems like there was likely alotof bickering and arguing over tiny things.
In the main universe, Harley and Selina have never been romantic, with Selina mostly seeming to be annoyed by Harley more often than not. But they’ve still teamed up several times, most notably inGotham City Sirens. Overall, there’s great potential for the two of them to be together, and the idea has been played with in the past, but readers have never gotten to see a full-on relationship between the two, but maybe someday in the future.
2Batman Has Been A Fan Favorite Pairing For Decades
Batman: White Knightby Sean Murphy, Matt Hollingsworth, and Todd Klein
TheWhite Knightuniverse was a great look at iconic characters in a fresh new way. The Joker had a separate personality known as Jack Napier, who was an innocent man. Harley Quinn was a lot less ridiculous and fourth-wall-breaking, and Batman, at the start, was far more brutal. After Jack sacrifices himself to protect Harley and her kids from the Joker personality,Harley ends up starting a relationship with Batman. Their relationship is so close that not only did they get married at one point, but Harley even named one of her children Bryce, a play on Batman’s name of Bruce.
This marks pretty much the only time in comic history that Harley Quinn and Batman have been in a romantic relationship with one another. Readersstilldidn’t get to see much of them together, as the comic skips past their marriage, but it was still a pretty cool pairing.
1Poison Ivy Is Harley’s Perfect Romantic Interest
DC Comics: Bombshells#42 by Marguerite Bennett and Mirka Andolfo
Of all the love interests on this list, Poison Ivy has always been the most consistent and long lasting. There is no one else that Harley loves more or wants to spend more time with than Poison Ivy. The two have been together in comics and animation, and will undeniably be together in live action once they appear together. They’re a perfect match. Not only is Poison Ivy a former supervillain, just like Harley was, but she’s also much more sane and grounded than Harley is. The two balance each other perfectly.
While Poison Ivy is capable of keeping Harley grounded and not getting caught up in insane schemes or wacky adventures, Harley can humanize Ivy. With Ivy’s powers and goals, it’s easy for her to lose track of why she should care about humanity, but Harley continually reminds her. That’s why of everyone on this list, Poison Ivy is the one true love ofHarley Quinn.
